The most expensive USA bat

When you are looking at highend bats you are looking for feel and pop. This is without a doubt the most expensive bat in the USA division. First off understand USA as this is the first Meta allowed for USA use. On top of that this is the only highend bat still with a 28in. The Prime is the former king. My comparison is Louisville Meta 28in-12, Prime 919 28in-10, Easton ADV-1 28in-12, Easton ALX -10, Rawlings Chaos 29-12, and Easton Ghost 30in-12. Understand bat speed of your 7-12yo. Weight vs swing speed is key. Length falls into this. My own opinion is a 28-29in is the perfect size for 99% of kids up until 12. Just add weight. The 22 Meta feels very light. The -12 is one thing but the balance is near perfect. It is a great design for holding it up by the ear and not stressing the childs arm when loaded. Feel is where the Meta is top notch. It is better than all its competitors. Quality is something insane as well. The bat looks… Pretty. Where most bats have mat paint, this has metallic. Infact even compared tothe old goat Prime the presentation is very impressive. The knob could be much better. It is just plastic and is off putting compared to the rest of the bat. The grip is very comfortable. Swing. The ADV1 has a large spot and light weight. Your kid can swing horrible and still make decent contact. This is the same with all bats, until Louisville. The Prime 919 has a bump by the knob, end loaded in comparison. So it forces you to swing correctly and is weightless when moving. However that 18 ounces is closer to 20. Unless your child knows hiw to swing off of the shoulder and swing correctly it is unforgiving. The Meta does what the Prime does, with much less weight. Smaller bump out at the knob makes this a quicker swing. Performance. My 10yo and 8yo hit off of the tee for this. The ALX and the Ghost were the hardest hitters of Easton. The ADV1 has pop and is close to the bigger bats, but suffers from bad bat sting. Worse than the Chaos. The Chaos is the weakest of these bats and has some sting, but for $150 it is fine. The Meta and the Prime have no sting. None. The Primes heavier weight allows for a harder swing. In terms of just distance the Prime/Meta were nearly equal and the clear winners. Though the Prime has more weight it is also slower to swing because of it. The Meta is amazing for the weight. Doing a hit track with my 8yo @42 to 48mph the exit velo stats are the ALX was 38mph and broke, ADV-1 34mph, Chaos 33mph, Ghost 38mph, 30″719 45, 29″Select power 45mph, 919 45mph, and the Meta 42mph. That might sound bad, but the Meta is actually more like 4 ounces lighter than the 919,719, and Power Select. So really the Meta is the best per weight and by far the easiest to swing out of all the bats. Kind of crazy when you think about it. This is my recommendation, a younger player should go with a Meta and a experienced kid to the Prime. If you can get the Meta on sale it is the best bat in the division.
