Teaching ball
This ball comes assembled and ready to use. It has extreme accuracy and teaches my son how to pitch for his little league team. The ball is sturdy and durable and is also waterproof. Great value

Amazing training tool
This ball is awesome for any beginner pitcher. I got this for my young son to help him learn different pitch styles. It is so much better than me just telling him where to place his fingers as he is a visual learner. He can actually see where to place his fingers. After much practice, it’s like piano, he knows where to place his fingers and it feels natural. There are four different pitch types, each type of pitch is color coded for finger placement. I highly recommend it for beginners.

Made a great gift!
Bought this for an up-and-coming baseball player! Well for now he is learning but loves the sport. And this ball teaches you how to place your fingers for the perfect pitch.

Missing a lot of detail
This ball is great if it were for a 2 fingered person… but my kids have 5 each… this ball doesn’t come with a how to, or anything… so if you look, the “4 seam” has 2 red finger placements… how do we know WHICH 2 fingers go there… and what about the other 3? It has potential, but definitely missing the next step. Plus, it was clearly printed before being sewn together, so the print is off at the seams.

Great ball, but misses the chance to build value
I got this ball for my kid who is about to graduate from mixed coach and kid pitch games to fully kid pitch next season. To be honest, their hands probably aren’t quite ready for it yet, but they’ve been talking with me about 2- and 4-seam fastballs, so I figured I would get this so they can start to understand how different pitch grips are used.I like that the ball has markings for where the index and middle fingers go to throw various pitches, and I like it has both right and left-handed markings. One of the pitchers on my kid’s team is a lefty, so I hope this will be a fun tool for them to share at practices.Overall, I think there is a missed opportunity to add value here, though. The manufacturer could offer a video link via QR code on the outside of the package that shows kids a bit more about the thumb placement, arm motion, and wrist action that goes into throwing various pitches.All-in-all, this is a good tool to get people excited about baseball, and my kid will use it to practice until they memorize the various grips.

Nice pitch training ball
This is a great teaching ball for any baseball lover. Got this for my 9 year old as he is beginning to be interested in the sport and thought this could help him with some pitches. The only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars is because I feel it should come with tips, instructions or videos to show how exactly to use it especially for a beginner.

Nice practice ball
My kid likes this. He’s still trying to figure out exactly how it works. It doesn’t come with instructions and it’s kind of confusing for him. He will figure it out with more practice.

Fun Learning Aid
Great for teaching how to throw different pitches. Especially fun for kids just starting to like baseball and wanting to throw the same pitches that the tv announcers are calling. Ok, so still a long way to go, but at least this gives the proper hand positioning and all we have to work on is the throwing motion. Heh.

Needs a How To…
If you know all the different types of pitches to throw, this ball is a great teaching tool. The only one I recognized was the fastball, so that information was easy to relay, the rest was a bit confusing. I believe if they have a video or a guide on grip this is a 5 star product. The ball feels like a real baseball (grip, material, weight). The print on it is excellent and crisp. Overall, amazing quality trainer that is just missing a training guide.

Not helpful
Here is the basic problem – it does not show you where to place your thumb, which varies for these pitches. It is also not the standard placement for your fingers for a two-seam fast ball as far as I learned.

Pitch training baseball
I picked this up for my son. The ball shows where 2 fingers should be placed for either a right or left hander but does not contain any other instructions. I did some googling to show him how to hold the ball and where to place his other fingers. The marks on the ball are a nice reminder but if you have no idea on how to throw a curve ball for instance you will need to do a bit more research.

Maybe half the info you need…
I thought this would be an interesting tool to teach my kids a little more about different pitches, just for fun. Unfortunately the markings on the ball only show 2 “dots” for each pitch—with no thumb placement, and no “cheat sheet” to show the different grips. You’re getting a ball with some colored dots, that’s all. And where’s the change-up and the cutter?Bottom line, no “how-to/training” product should arrive with ZERO instructions or use manual. Come on.

Not worth it. Just a baseball with some dots…
The media could not be loaded.
What I got was a baseball with some colored marks and a small thank you card that’s included in the packaging. There are no instructions or even a simplest of guides on how to use the ball. It just has various colored dots for your two fingers…but nothing about where your thumb goes, or how the ball should be held, no mention of supination as you throw, etc. It’s literally just a regular baseball with colored dots which does not justify its price. If you are someone not familiar with the pitches (slider, curve, 2 seam, 4 seam), you would now have to go through various videos and other resources on what to do next…but all those resources will show you exactly how to hold the ball, along with all the mechanics of pitching that goes with it. If the ball at least came with additional diagrams and other guides, I would’ve given it one more star. If it had some extra high seams to help with the curve training, maybe….but this ball comes with none.

Covering All Bases
I’ve never played baseball on an organized team. So other than the basics, I have no other advice for my sons who play competitively. This item was suggested by another parent in a similar situation. The boys are using it daily and as far as I can tell absolutely love it. They are able to practice pitches at home and improve their technique outside of regular practice. The ball is identical ins size to their regulation size balls. So other than the printed areas, it looks, feels and throws the same. There is a colored guide printed on the ball, so there’s no need to carry an additional manual. The colors are bold and easy to read. The boys will even sit inside holding the ball without throwing it just to get the feel for each of the four pitches. They can’t thank me for my coaching skills, but appreciate the fact that I know how to cover my bases when thrown a curveball.

Great for the Kids starting out
Wonderful to have in your tool kit for learning to play ball! This shows different ways to throw the ball for pitching is a wonderful one to have for kids starting out. Shows exactly where to put your fingers for the different types of throws. My 7 year old is really enjoying it. Seems sturdy and hopefully will hold up for awhile. Could be used as just a normal baseball to play with too.
